How Bibi handles Bashar

In March, 2012, Bashar al-Assad’s massacre of the Syrian demonstrators against his brutal dictatorship, was causing dozens of dead civilians on almost a daily basis, including many old women and men, children, and even newborn babies in wholesale slaughters by the Syrian armed forces.

OyZilla thought it was high time to illustrate the Israeli government’s position of non-support for the opposition forces in Syria. And so this cartoon was borne unto the Interwebz, provoking poignant perspective ever since.

Asked about his choice of words for the political cartoon, OyZilla told OyVey.co.il editors that the biblical expression “Love Thy Neighbor” seemed most appropriate for the context of the illustration.

The Hebrew Calendar year is 5772. It’s Purim time again and once again, Persia, currently called the Islamic Republic of Iran, is threatening the existence of the Jewish people … and everyone else who lives in Israel, for that matter.

And like clockwork, the AIPAC meeting in Washington, DC was visited by the Prime Minister of Israel, and various American leaders, including the Republican candidates vying for the President’s job.

To boot, Prime Minister Netanyahu met with President Obama, to discuss the ongoing and increasing nuclear threats from Tehran.

Laughzilla read all about it and decided it was time to present this clear illustration of the ties that bond the American and Israeli allies, in the form of a Venn Diagram, with commentaries from Bibi and Barack on the side.

There I was, meandering through Jerusalem in January 2012 when I stumbled upon this sign outside a local street food vendor.

So I was wandering through the shuk somewhere in Israel early in January 2012 and I ran into this t-shirt hanging on a rack for sale at a price of about $7 (nis 30) at the time.

What makes this shirt even funnier than it first appears, is that in fact there are certain ways of using the grammar they chose to print, correctly. However, of course, none of those ways are as obvious as the fact that they obviously spelled “Too” incorrectly as “To”.  Naturally, the punchline was too big to fail and too funny to ignore.

Ahh … Channukah. The festival of lights.

A time to gamble for chocolate gelt or other goodies.

A celebration of oil energy.

And sometimes, a time for major historic events.

Whatever your reason for celebrating, here’s hoping you enjoy these eight nights of presents and tasty fried treats.

Remember folks … the oil that burns for eight days is a miracle, and the friends who share our jokes and pictures are miraculous.

We stumbled upon a sewage pipe in a street in Israel in early December 2011, and here is a photo of what it looked like standing across the street, just out of the way of being under the column of high pressure water.
